According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA). In 2008, 30.2% of youth ages 6 to 12 were active to a healthy level through sports, organized or unstructured; by 2015, that number had dropped to 26.6%, according to SFIA. Among 13- to 17-year-olds, the rate fell from 42.7% to 39.3%.
Physical Literacy can change these statistics. At The National Association of Physical Literacy we empower multi-sport organizations to take an active role in infusing physical literacy throughout their clubs and organizations. We provide easy to use tools for youth sport coaches and club staff to infuse physical literacy into existing programs. The outcome is better trained, better prepared staff with access to effective plans and programs that are proven to reduce behavior issues and have a positive impact on building self-esteem and self-regulation.
