Imagine if children only learned the letters A-G or to count 1-10. Their ability to perform the basic fundamental tasks required to be contributing members of society would be extremely hindered. So why is it acceptable then that there is a large percentage of our children that lack the ability, or the confidence to perform the fundamental movement skills that are essential to MOVING, LIVING and PARTICIPATING in life
Physical Literacy (PL) involves a cultural shift by which children and adults, develop and effectively implement the fundamental movement, nutrition, and mindfulness skills necessary to live a physically, socially, and emotionally healthy, active life.
Effective Physical Literacy Programming begins in preschool and extends through high school. NAPL (The National Association of Physical Literacy) is dedicated to providing Physical Literacy curriculum, training and programming that directly addresses the mounting health crisis of inactivity.
